Florida’s tropical modern home with a sunken living room
The two storey waterfront tropical modern luxury home fuses mid-century motifs with tropical elements including South American hardwoods, exotic stones, and water features.
The entrance of the home is landscaped with tropical plants, exotic stones and water features. The carriage house, which has a bedroom, full bathroom and kitchenette, is partially above the Ipe wood car garage and accessed separately by a glass-enclosed staircase. As you walk under the carriage house, natural stone steps lead to a cascading pond and a green living wall before entering the main home. The rooftop terrace is accessible by a white spiral staircase designed as a sculptural element.
The residence boasts an open living floor plan with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that blur the lines between the inside and outside. The home incorporates warm Ipe woods, white stucco finishes, limestone cladding and black marble walls. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a private balcony with glass railings and deep Ipe wood overhangs, a large closet and a bathroom with a sauna.
Outdoors, the infinity pool has a sunken living room, with a fire pit surrounded by water on all sides for a floating effect. The summer kitchen with bar seating overlooks the pool and Biscayne Bay. By the pool area, there is a gym surrounded by glass windows with unobstructed views of the water.
